Since 1999 MCI, Bluebird Coaches and other Recreational Vehicles (RVs) have been installed with electronic Point-of-Entry water purification equipment originally designed for homes on well water that use copper ionization and titanium oxygenation to ensure owners the ability to have and the ECO-friendly assurance of safe and clean travel water. This technology of chemical free water purification has given RV travelers both on land and in the water the security and freedom of safe travel water with bacteria control that keeps their water clean and makes it usable without the use of salt or chlorine.

In order to control both bacteria and mold in the water of their holding tanks nearly 50 RV and luxury yachts owners are able to treat and purify whatever source water is available to them with Apollo Space Program technology first developed for NASA’s 3 week missions to the moon. As RV travelers cross America they are able to use these customized well water systems to filter and purify low quality raw water into safe bottled water quality clean water. The copper ionization used by the system allows a residual to remain in the water that controls bacteria and stops mold from growing. This allows owners of SkipperLiner freshwater luxury yachts with systems installed, which is over forty, to receive identical benefits and the ability to pull their drinking and shower water from places like Lake Havasu, Lake Shasta and even the Mississippi river. The water is kept clean, fresh and crisp for weeks from the copper ionization and natural oxygen generated by the systems on land and water in both RVs and yachts.

“Wherever the water source is, the system not only purifies the source water but prevents bacteria and mold growth in the holding tanks.”

Regular source water is pulled from both Lake Havasu and Lake Shasta in addition to the Mississippi river as part of the factory installed water treatment system in SkipperLiner yachts. SkipperLiner, based in Wisconsin, along with retrofitting numerous customers has been installing copper ionization and oxygenation well water systems as an option since 1999 at their AZ and NV sales offices. Another growing lifestyle choice, houseboats, also do well with these types of systems.

The tanks for RV travelers are easily configured based on digital photographs and can be as short as 30″ in height and 24″ wide. Generally the base plumbing and holding tank configurations remain the same and fill up still occurs with a garden hose style fitting. A network of nearly 1,000 mechanics in all 50 states can be retained to change out filter tanks, usually every 2 to 3 years.

Whether filling up at a mountain campground or with chemical laden city water, oxygenation allows the heavy metals in the water to be filtered and the ionization controls bacteria and mold growth in the holding tanks as you travel through the desert.

ECOsmarte remains the world leader of zero salt & zero chlorine water technology, and combines conventional whole house systems in addition to RV and yacht systems. Residual bacteria and mold control achieved with NASA technology is cost effective with a low operating cost, plus service is available from a large number of North American water treatment dealers.

Larry Couture is the Founder and CEO of ECOsmarte. ECOsmarte is the World leader in Chemical Free Water Technology. ECOsmarte’s RV and yacht systems with Residual Bacteria Control have roots in NASA.

Countless motor vehicle owners are drawn out to the road every day, every year, in search of the promise lying just over the horizon. In pursuit of that goal, many vehicle owners are intent on being able to bring along as much of their property with them as possible.

In that sense, many drivers choose to have a towbar installed in their car, which makes it possible to tow a trailer or other vehicles and thereby bring along the maximum amount of items with them on the road.

To properly tow a trailer, it is necessary to have a standard and strong towbar, also known as a tow hitch, installed that can deal with heavy loads and ensure that the vehicle and the trailer move in relative synchrony, preventing excessive disarticulation between the movements of each.

Not just any old towbar fits that bill, which is why it is important to check industry standards and get the advice of a professional before deciding what sort of hitch to get installed in your car and/or what size/weight of a trailer to hitch to it.

Basically, towbars come in two forms: there are those with a tow ball mounted on a tow bracket, and another kind that involves a tow pin and corresponding jaw that fit to a trailer loop. The first kind is better for articulating the movement of the towing vehicle and the trailer which is a major consideration when towing, while the second type does not allow for such great coordination, though if you allow enough slack in the tow pin you can come closer to successfully articulating the movements of both.

Receiver towbars are a variety of towbar that include a removable tow ball and are included in some larger vehicles on the factory line, while fixed towbars are ones which are built right onto the car’s frame and come in heavy duty vehicles. Either way, the towbar is attached right to the vehicle chassis to ensure that the load being towed is properly resisted and doesn’t damage the vehicle. For optimal distribution of weight during towing, special square sockets exist, and using these helps improve the safety in a towing operation and decrease the risk of an accident happening.

Loading the tow ball is a delicate procedure and has to be done just right in both the horizontal and vertical sense, otherwise there is greater risk of something going awry. If you do not have experience loading the tow ball, then get the help and advice of somebody that does, a decision that will not only help avoid damages to your own property and vehicles but also avoid hurting other people out on the roadways.

For the absolute safest in towbars, there is a special variety referred to as a Lunette Ring. This model is comprised of a pintle hook and the Lunette Ring itself, and these are best for people towing large loads and/or operating on rough ground such as in rural areas.

Byron Jonas understands that towbars are an important accessory for a vehicle, which is why he sought qualified advice before installing a towbar on his vehicle.
Class B RVs top our list for fun and convenience in one place. Class B RVs are elite model vans. They don’t just have a few seats in the back to pack in a ton of people. These RVs are designed for people who want the ease of driving a standard vehicle with the added luxury of having a bed, kitchen, bathroom and relaxation area included. It’s a vacation on wheels and ready to take you anywhere.

Class B RVs and essentially pimped out vans. They are extended through a panel system to create room for all the basic living essentials. From simple to lavish, Class B RVs have a kitchen, bathroom, recreational area and bedroom built in. Designed for couples, most models offer great travel space for two, however the roomier designs let you bring another couple or the kids for the ride.

Most RVs bring in 8-10 mpg. However, the Class B RV’s fuel economy earns it 18 mpg. Because it doesn’t have the additional weight most RVs have, gas fill-ups don’t have to be dreaded any more. The gas mileage also makes this a perfect vehicle for long-distance trips. The style and size allow it to be driven around town without feeling as if you’re in an 18-wheeler.

These vehicles are perfect for small families. They have ample space for kids to stretch out and relax as they are being shuttled to and from sporting events or after-school activities. The built-in bathroom makes for a lot less stopping on the road and quicker travel times. Let your kids entertain themselves with books and movies while you focus on the road.

The general length of a Class B RV runs from 16-21 feet long, which makes parking in crowded places a breeze. Whether you’re heading to work or setting out on a cross-country adventure, all you’ll feel is the comfort of a van with the benefits of being able to pull off the road for a nap, or a quick bite to eat.

Buying a Class B RV won’t break the bank. The starting price of around $30,000 is a lot cheaper than trying to buy a new car and paying for hotel and airfare for ten years of family vacations. It’s an investment that will reward you with fond memories and adventures you can create through spur of the moment decisions to stop at unknown places, or a well planned itinerary that takes you exactly where you want to go and when. Used vehicles can also be a great investment, just be sure to have them checked out thoroughly first.

Financing is no hardship with Class B RVs. They qualify as a second home, so be sure to speak to someone about how you can get your tax break. With 15 year RV financing, your monthly payments won’t be any more strenuous than buying a new car.

Because Class B RVs are built on a van base, they are like driving a car. Power steering and cruise control are amenities you can enjoy as well as bringing all the comforts of home on the road.

Class B RVs are top of the line when you’re looking for a vehicle that incorporates the ease of driving a van with the amenities of a larger RV. What more do you need than a place to cook, sleep and relax? The beauty of Class B RVs is they allow you to hit the road without a second thought, sleep where you want and wake up to some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

You have just made the decision to purchase an RV. What now? The following tips will guide you through the process of finding an RV dealer that fits your needs. Buying an RV is an investment in exploration and memories, so choose carefully.

Longevity is something to be considered. Finding an RV dealer that has managed to survive recessions generally means they are forward thinkers who put their customers at the top of their priority list. This is what you want. You want and RV dealer who will still be in business ten years from now when you’re looking for an upgrade.

How does the RV dealer answer your questions? Will they take the time to talk to you? Will they give you comparisons between different price ranges and different models? If someone is rude to you, then you don’t have to buy from them. They should want your business. If they appear to busy to help you then find someone who will.

While you may be tempted to choose a local RV dealer, remember you have nationwide options thanks to the internet. There are programs where your airline ticket is mailed to you, compliments of the RV dealer if you decide to buy with them. What other incentives do RV dealers offer? Take the time to do a little research before you jump in.

RV dealers with a good stock of inventory show they are financially capable as well as being able to give you options. What you initially thought you wanted may not match your needs when you see it in person. What else do they have? Find out.

Having a real live person answer your calls may seem like an antiquated idea with automated services and on-line chats, but being able to reach out and have instant answers, is something no price can be put on. You may have financing questions, or concerns about warranties. Make sure someone experienced can help you answer the questions.

How happy are the people that work there? Do they seem like they’re only helping you because they want a commission, or do they really love what they do? RV dealers that take care of their staff will also take care of you.

Remember, you have a choice of who you do business with. There are hundreds of RV dealers out there and they should all be working hard to earn your trust, your confidence and your sale.

Blues breaks and spring breaks are upon us and what better way to take a vacation than in a travel trailer? Vacations have been the topic of many psychological studies that prove healing benefits on the body, mind and relationships. Humans need breaks from work to remain productive and improve imagination. So head out in the travel trailer for a break from ordinary life.

Ski resorts abound throughout the country, but Colorado has a huge variety of terrain, views, and activities that are ideal for every age. Travel trailers are a great way to explore the resorts along the I-70 corridor, or head to more remote locations for a quieter skiing experience.

The landscape varies from hills to mountains, cities to towns. Food and drink are made locally, with some of the best beers in the country and cuisine to match. If you’re on the hunt for the perfect snow conditions, then the travel trailer is the ideal way to jump from resort to resort to check out the best of Colorado.

Aspen is known for catering to the rich and famous, but they also host the X-Games, have great food and an eclectic mix of people. Vail and Breckenridge sit right on the I-70 corridor and boast convenient skiing, incredible dining and enormous peaks. Steamboat Springs, CO breeds Olympians; it’s in the frozen water. Mt. Werner’s terrain is perfect for beginners and experts alike.

When you’ve had it with winter, head out to the California coast. Redwoods stretch hundreds of feet in the air and cold is considered a day below 60 degrees. Let your toes be free and walk along miles of beaches from Malibu to the Klamath.

Dana Point sits on the upscale end of California with world class food, camping and marine life observations. Carpinteria is one of those small towns that have an atmosphere all to its own. Close to Santa Barbara, trails stretch in all directions for days of hiking and biking. Heading down the coast brings you to Los Angeles, Malibu and San Diego. Think endless expanses of golden sand and something for every age.

Big Sur is known around the world for surfing. If you’d rather test your abilities at rock climbing, then head to Joshua Tree for ideal year-round climbing conditions.

No matter your preference; slopes dusted with champagne powder or views of the ocean that stretch into infinity, your travel trailer can take you there. Enjoy cold beers or hot toddies to celebrate the day and celebrate your life.

You’re in the market for a used RV, so naturally you browse the classifieds and come across a series of ads that say ‘Used RV for Sale by Owner.’ There’s a couple that look like they might fit your needs, but you aren’t sure if you can trust a complete stranger. You place the call, buy the RV and when it’s too late you find out all the problems the owner didn’t disclose.

There are alternatives to buying a used RV from the owner directly. One of them is to find a consignment RV company that specializes in selling used RVs. Consignment stores build their businesses around their customers. Especially with so much information sharing on the internet, a business that doesn’t do well by their customers is going to be exposed. Individual sellers aren’t held up to any such standard.

Yet, you think, consignment companies take might jack up the prices to increase their commission, while there’s more leeway for negotiation with someone with a used RV for sale by owner. However, it’s in the consignment RV companies’ best interest to make sure you are a satisfied customer. They depend on return customers and word of mouth. Individuals are only looking for a one-time sale.

No dealer can beat that price, you think to yourself as you see an ad. That’s a myth. Talk to a consignment dealer and they will help you find what you want in your price range. Not only that, they also offer warranties and have a service department standing by to help you if you need it. They take the time to inspect their vehicles so you don’t have to worry about it.

Test driving a used vehicle and having it inspected are important parts of the process. At a consignment dealer, you can do both without leaving the lot. While you may also want your personal mechanic to look the vehicle over, the convenience of having everything in one place and being able to set times that fit your schedule and not the sellers are a plus.

Part of the service aspect that used RVs for sale by owners don’t come with is people waiting to help you. That is their job, to answer the phone when you call and make sure you are satisfied with the help you are getting. Their service department is also available to you to ensure you know what you’re getting when you drive off the lot.

Consignment dealers also have experienced people whose business it is to know the ins and outs of RVs. They welcome questions because they have the answers, so ask away. Is this a vehicle that will work for family getaways across country, or is it better suited for couples?

Consignment dealers have a history of RVs. Most people offering used RVs for sale by owner know their specific RV, but many may not know the ins and outs of the industry and what’s going to be best for you. Consider a consignment RV company next time you’re in the market for a used RV.

Class A RVs are the best money can buy when it comes to RVs. They are in an elite class all to themselves. Tiled floors, real wood cabinets, porcelain toilets, showers, baths, a three burner stove and more are just a few of the amenities of this vehicle. When you’re tired of your house, hit the road without losing any of the luxury, in a Class A RV.

With the finest quality products there is generally a pretty impressive fee and Class A RVs are no exception. The lower end of the spectrum RVs begin at $50,000 and keep climbing to the million dollar level. Class A RVs have catered to presidents, the rich and famous, and musicians. Does the price justify the vehicle?

Why would anyone spend a million dollars on an RV? Because they can. Because when you pull into a resort, a spa or a rock concert in a Class A RV, you are giving a certain amount of respect. In fact, you may be mistaken for a rock star, actor or actress. You don’t have to tell anyone the truth. Traveling by Class A RV comes with its own set of conveniences. You can stop anytime you like to get a breath of fresh air. Any town or monument that catches your eye, you can spend as much or a little time as you like exploring it. When you’re done, head back to your RV where all the custom details make you feel as if you’ve come home.

The kitchen makes it easy to cater to every food critic. Cook or order in. You won’t feel the need to stop at a restaurant for food; you’ll want to spend as much time on the road in your Class A RV as possible. Standard amenities include a 70 inch sofa with sleeper bed, DVD player, 32 inch LCD TV, Euro chair and more.

Most people avoid spending time in RV bathrooms. But in a Class A RV bathroom, you’ll find yourself escaping for hours to soak in your own bathtub, or let the shower run over you. A skylight enhances the atmosphere.

Eight people can enjoy sleeping spaces including queen sized beds. Television in the bedroom offers a little privacy with entertainment.

Playing outside is just as much fun as indoor time. With a patio awning that stretches outward, watching the day slip by becomes more than a hobby, it’s a job. Outdoor lights let the day go on for hours as games and conversation continue uninterrupted into the night.

These vehicles have the best of what an RV can offer. It’s mobile, its luxury and it’s more than a home. It’s a paradise on wheels.

Bigger isn’t always better. That’s what we’re learning about with environmental awareness. Everything is being downsized – houses and cars are getting smaller, even RVs are shrinking. Those worried about a carbon footprint might be interested in the newer models of lightweight travel trailers.

Lightweight travel trailers are intended to be small, compact and carry the most basic of essentials. Generally six to sixteen feet long, these trailers offer a warm dry place to sleep and eat while not taking up a lot of storage space and hitching onto mid-size cars for added fuel economy. Tear drop campers and pop up campers both fall into the category of lightweight travel trailer.

Most lightweight travel trailers are suited for a maximum of four people while others were created for soloists, couples or those with pets. Whether you prefer a shower and kitchen, or just a bed to sleep in, there’s a model that fits your needs.

Past models of lightweight travel trailers had to be pulled by an SUV or truck, which can up the cost of the trip in gas money. Newer models work well with mid-size vehicles making them available to a wider range of consumers. Gas mileage is improved not only by weight but by design. Wind is reflected off the lightweight travel trailer, making these some of the best designed RVs on the market.

While technically an RV, the pop-up camper mixes tent with RV for a canvas based shelter that offers space for cooking and showering, and plenty of room for playing games during rainy days. The fold down ability allows for storage without taking up a lot of space.

Teardrop lightweight campers look more like a traditional RV, except they are designed with a rounded front so the wind doesn’t add extra friction as you travel. Having a place to crash no matter where you are can be a great comfort to those who travel alone. It’s a safe space that isn’t going to cost $70.00 a night or more. The storage space is great to keep travel gear so it doesn’t get tossed around as you drive.

GoRVing has enlisted third parties to study the environmental effects of RV travel vs. regular air and hotel travel. The results are that RVing can save up to as much as 60% off regular travel. Those who want to upgrade their lightweight travel trailer to cater to the environment can use solar panels and recycle water for additional savings. Outfitting the beds with bamboo sheets also helps.

Getting out into the great outdoors is a part of the heritage of RVing. Lightweight travel trailers are no exception. With a split second decision, you can be out the door and on the road. If the sun’s shining and you want to head out on a biking adventure, rock climbing or surfing expedition, you’re ready to go with a mobile hotel.

The latest RV shows found an increased interest in lightweight travel trailers. There’s a new generation of people becoming interested in RVs and the companies that cater towards the environmentally friendly crowd are seeing a spike in sales.

Lightweight travel trailers are the way to go if you like economy, exercise and the environment. With a growing consumer base, these travel trailers will be booming over the next few years. Keep an eye out for the latest developments.

Being called a third wheel isn’t generally a compliment. It usually means you aren’t wanted. But when you own a fifth wheel, everyone will want to be around you and travel with you. Fifth wheels are one of the roomiest RVs on the market with plenty of space and privacy for all.

The maximum number of slide-outs, five, can add an extra fifteen feet of space when parked. The ceilings on fifth wheels are known to be built higher than other models, for a spacious feel. There are a variety of amenities that come with the top-of-the line models, including custom cabinetry and detailing from bathroom sinks to shower tiles.

Bring your closest eight family members or friends on a trip to a hidden paradise or down to Disney World. RVs make memories, while allowing you all the creature comforts of home. Up to 40 feet in length, RVs can be outfitted as a second home.

Looking for a little space from grandma, or your uncle that snores? Set them up in the bedroom that stretches over the truck bed. Reasonably priced at $20,000, fifth wheels can top a million dollars depending on what types of amenities you like.

Next time you’re on the road and want to run to the grocery store, or want to take a backcountry road to the middle of nowhere, simply detach the fifth wheel and leave it at the campground. The versatility of fifth wheels is one of the reasons for their popularity.

Similar to hotel accommodations, fifth wheels have showers, living rooms, bedrooms. Entertainment is a no-brainier with state of the art equipment that brings in TV, internet, movies, audio and more. If you dream of it, you can probably take it in a fifth wheel.

Traditional fifth wheels needed a sturdy rig for carting them around, but newer lightweight models can be hitched to a half ton truck. Luxury isn’t lost in the new models; they are just a little more aerodynamic.

Fifth wheels are for those who like a little class on the road. A fifth wheel is more than a vehicle for getting from point A to point B, fifth wheels are a home on wheels. In fact, they are a lot more luxurious than a one room apartment in New York City. Visit all the places on your top twenty travel list and do it in style with a fifth wheel.
